OSI is one of the largest companies of its kind in the world when it comes to producing food with operations in 17 countries around the world. This purchase will help OSI expand even more in the European market and allow them to supply their current customers with even more products to meet their needs.

Before OSI Group acquired Flagship Europe, they had recently expanded their offerings with the Food To Go program. This took place after they purchased the company Calder Foods who provides sauces, dips, mayonnaise, and sandwich fillings. Flagship is excited about the transaction and believes that it will bring big things for both companies. They now have access to many resources from OSI that will help them gain a stronger place in the food market. To know more about the company click here.

He states that they are on the lookout for new ways to support the evolving demands of their customers around the world. By bringing on board the team at Flagship, he will be able to have new insight on the region that the company served before the acquisition. OSI Group is a well-known icon of the Midwest in the United States. Based out of Chicago, they have been doing business for more than a decade. What began as a humble butcher shop ran by a German immigrant has grown to an international business that continues to expand to this day. The company first began to expand considerably in the international market in the 1980’s and 1990’s due to their close relationship with the fast-food chain McDonald’s. Their vision to constantly grow and improve hasn’t changed and their loyal customers appreciate that.

OSI Industries has been growing for over a century. What began as a local butcher’s shop has grown into a global business which employs 20,000 people. It has 65 facilities in 17 countries. This company’s rise from humble, local business to international success is an example of what America’s economic system is capable of.

OSI Industries’ history is also rooted in immigration. A German immigrant in the Chicago area created the company. His name was Otto Kolschowsky, and his original intention was to simply create a butcher’s shop. However, his children – Arthur and Harry – were able to secure a deal that made them an international sensation.

Arthur and Harry struck a deal with a new restaurant that had opened up in Des PLaines, Illinois. That restaurant was named McDonald’s, and, as everyone already knows, it is the world’s biggest fast food franchise. OSI and McDonald’s flourished together, both becoming global brands.

Otto & Sons were started up more than 100 years ago today by a German immigrant. Otto started his own meat business in Chicago and over the years he continued to build the company along with the help of his two sons. Today, Otto & Sons has changed its name to OSI under the leadership of new owners, but despite that, it is still bigger than it has ever been and remains one of the kinds in food processing around the world today. In the beginning, the company was focused on meat products only and it stayed that way for several decades before more people came in to consult with Otto & Sons to improve the companies strategies. These days, OSI Group processes many different food products on top of meats.

OSI has been steadily expanding ever since the 50’s when they obtained a contract with McDonald’s. More than that though was the introduction of Sheldon Lavin as a financial advisor for the company. Otto & Sons were able to use Sheldon’s advice to expand on the companies borders greatly since Sheldon was strongly pushing towards the companies globalization. By the late 70’s, OSI Group was started to expand into new countries as well as added new foods to their processing list.

It turns out that one of the biggest tipping points for the company came during the advancement of food preservation techniques. This allowed the OSI Group to freeze huge amounts of meat for their clients, mostly McDonald’s all over the world with relative ease thanks to increased storage time. McDonald’s grew constantly over the years, affording the OSI Group its largest contract for several decades, ultimately contributing to the companies expansion to the international market. Before changing its name to the OSI Group, the company was known as Otto & Sons, which was named after the original owner and his two sons.
